Bulgarian spy vows to reveal Vatican secrets in book.

A senior spy in the Bulgarian communist secret service, Bozhidar Dimitrov, who worked in the Vatican, said he was going to publish his secret files as a book.

The 69-year-old historian said on Monday in Sofia, that the book was due out in the next few days and the Society would discover many of the so-called secrets of the Vatican.

Mr. Dimitrov claimed that he was working in the Vatican for Bulgaria’s secret service from 1974 to 1990 and collected secret material from the archives of the Apostolic Library.

He is currently the Director of the National History Museum in Boyana on the outskirts of the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

He remained active politically after the fall of the Iron Curtain, leaving the communist party’s reincarnation, the Bulgarian Socialist Party, in the middle of 2009 to join the centre-right Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria party, or GERB.

Because of his secret service past, he gave up his post as minister without portfolio at the beginning of 2011.
